THE OPPORTUNITY:

This dynamic opportunity is designed for a passionate and forward-thinking Food Development Technologist eager to take the lead in creating and launching innovative, market-relevant products.

This is a days-based position (8am – 4:30pm) with an early finish Friday.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

With a focus on expanding market share across diverse sectors, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in bringing new ideas to life—from concept through commercialization—while optimizing existing products for improved performance and profitability.

  • Collaborates closely with the Senior Development Technologist to translate client briefs into innovative recipes, benchmark studies, and taste panel insights.

  • Champions the development and rollout of new food products, aligning with strategic sales and marketing objectives.

  • Evaluates project feasibility, contributing to accurate costings and commercially viable proposals.

  • Leads formulation design, prototype creation, and on-site scale-ups to ensure seamless product introduction.

  • Partners cross-functionally with sales, operations, and supply chain to deliver successful launches of new or enhanced products.

  • Advises on process equipment and plant capabilities related to development initiatives.

  • Conducts plant trials, shelf-life evaluations, and consumer testing to validate product performance.

  • Maintains timely updates within Salesforce and other NPD systems to ensure data integrity and project tracking.

  • Manages technical documentation, recipes, and specifications, ensuring alignment with company systems and standards.

  • Builds and nurtures strong customer relationships, acting as a trusted partner and innovation leader.

  • Collaborates with internal teams, attends cross-functional meetings, and supports broader organizational growth initiatives.

  • Upholds health, safety, and environmental policies, while adhering to all HR, operational, and travel protocols.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline—or equivalent industry experience.

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with proven experience using appropriate communication tools
