Central London

Our client is a London-based Investor, renewable energy developer and asset manager, specialising in the development, construction, and operation of low-carbon energy projects.

With over £1 billion in assets across wind, solar, gas peaking plants, BESS, and Industrial Energy centres, has a strong track record.

The company is advancing a 300MW pipeline of solar and battery projects set for construction within the next few years.

This role will focus on asset management while also contributing to project development to ensure seamless integration between design, construction, and long-term performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Performance Management: Ensure optimal operation and efficiency of solar PV and BESS assets by overseeing technical performance and addressing performance gaps.

PVsyst Modelling and Analysis: Conduct PVsyst simulations to support performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting.

O&M Strategy Development: Implement O&M strategies to maximise asset availability, efficiency, and reliability.

Technical Fault Resolution: Diagnose and resolve technical issues using remote monitoring systems and on-site inspections.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all assets adhere to grid regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.

Subcontractor & O&M Management: Supervise subcontractors and O&M service providers to ensure high maintenance standards.

Commissioning & Testing: Support commissioning and acceptance testing of new solar and BESS projects.

Performance Optimisation: Identify and implement technical improvements and cost-saving initiatives across the asset portfolio.

Technical Due Diligence: Provide input on feasibility studies and early-stage project assessments to evaluate project viability.

Design Review: Assess technical designs, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and engineering plans to ensure compliance with standards.

Permitting & Grid Connection: Collaborate with developers, engineers, and regulatory bodies to facilitate permitting and ensure compliance.

Grid Integration: Evaluate grid connection needs and liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to secure interconnection compliance.

Stakeholder Coordination: Work with internal teams, contractors, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless asset operations

Reporting & Documentation: Prepare monthly operational reports, fault analysis, and maintenance records. Compile board-level reports with insights on portfolio performance and technical issues.

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of solar PV, BESS, power electronics, inverters, and grid-connected systems.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent ability to analyse data, diagnose issues, and implement solutions to improve asset performance.

SCADA and Monitoring Systems: Experience with SCADA systems, remote monitoring platforms, and performance analytics.

Design and Engineering Knowledge: Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and engineering drawings.

Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

• 1-2 years’ experience in solar PV and BESS O&M, asset management, or performance engineering.

• Knowledge of power electronics, inverters, and grid-connected systems.

• Proficiency in PVsyst and other monitoring/diagnostic tools for system analysis.

• Experience in fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and performance optimisation.

• Familiarity with UK industry standards, compliance regulations, and HSE requirements.

• Has any experience working with HV/LV electrical systems and grid interfaces.

1-2 data analytics and reporting in an asset management  or operations function

Energy analytics experience 

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in  Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.

• Industry certifications in solar PV, BESS, or Wind energy are a plus
