Job Description:

As a data analyst focused on data visualization, you will drive the adoption of visualization technology at one of the world's leading investment firms. This includes utilizing a full suite of business intelligence tools based on Tableau software and a growing cloud data warehouse connected to robust data pipelines. The team is responsible for designing, developing, and curating golden-copy analytics datasets from diverse sources. These systems empower data scientists and analysts to make informed, high-quality decisions within the firm and across Blackstone's portfolio companies. Given the scale of Blackstone's investments and the critical role of data analytics, this is a unique opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess high level analytics goals, refine requirements, and build scalable data solutions
  • Refine and drive adoption of data visualization best practices throughout the firm
  • Develop and enrich relationships with data leads across Blackstone
  • Facilitate Proof-of-concept (POC) engagements, draft business designs (requirements), and establish project-specific resourcing plans.
  • Draft, manage and constantly improve all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to data visualization, including Tableau server access control, site administration, content curation, etc.
  • Participate in bi-weekly sprint planning meetings and daily standups
  • Optimize/troubleshootdata products for maximum performance and scalability.
  • Conduct project reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development practices.

Qualifications:

  • visualization/analyticsexperience preferred on platforms such as Tableau, Sigma, PowerBI, Looker, etc.
  • Capacity to work within complex systems and large data sets via SQL or Python
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and ability to quickly adapt to new technologies
  • Player/coach mentality with desire to mentor junior members and adjacent teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Articulate communicator in engaging technical staff and business partners
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM or quantitative discipline preferred

Preferred Skills:

  • Full spectrum experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, dbt, Sigma, Alation).
  • Proficient with ETL platforms such as Fivetran and Prefect
  • Hands on experience with data lineage and observability platforms
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools (JIRA, Trello).
