The Role

As a Data Analyst, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality, timely, and accurate investment data to our Investment Department and Analytical Insight Team. Working within the newly established Data Services division, you'll support improvements across data acquisition, mastering, and production processes, and help operationalise data governance policies. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, is detail-oriented, and is passionate about enabling data-driven decision-making at scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Operations & Quality: Undertake daily control tasks and monitor database updates to ensure accurate and timely data delivery.
  • Troubleshoot data pipeline disruptions and communicate impacts to downstream consumers.
  • Validate and maintain security setups and portfolio structures across fund data warehouse systems.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve data exceptions and quality issues, escalating as needed.
  • Perform investment data interrogation and reconciliations using modern tools and methodologies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Governance: Liaise with data vendors, custodians, and investment teams to resolve data and reporting issues.
  • Support the implementation of data governance policies and risk management frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative and organisational requirements.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in data management and reporting processes.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Participate in the design, implementation, and testing of new data solutions.
  • Recommend and follow through on improvements to data collection, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to apply new technologies to enhance data management.
Who We're Looking For

You're an investment data professional with a strong background in asset management or asset ownership, and a keen eye for detail. You bring technical expertise in data systems and a collaborative mindset, with a proven ability to work effectively in a team setting. We’re particularly interested in candidates with:

  • Experience in investment management or asset owner data operations.
  • Tertiary qualifications in STEM, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a numerate related field.
  • Experience with investment data platforms (e.g., Finbourne LUSID, Informatica, MSCI BarraOne, Aladdin, S&P Ilevel, Calypso).
  • Good working knowledge of Python, APIs, and SQL.
  • Understanding of financial markets and instruments across multiple asset classes.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data management architectures.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
