Key Responsibilities:

·      Leading and mentoring an international team focused on Risk data ingestion, transformation and reporting

·      Providing database and reporting subject matter expertise, collaborating with Risk stakeholders (Market Risk, Credit Risk & Enterprise Risk Managers) to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

·      Design and development of innovative solutions to complex problems that maintain highly efficient, available and fault tolerant systems

·      Staying up-to-date with industry trends and contribute to the architectural strategy for risk reporting, aligning with regulatory requirements and enterprise data strategy

·      Delivery of a complex portfolio of risk reporting change initiatives ranging from minor enhancements to large scale projects, including timelines, estimation, budgeting, resourcing and vendor relationships

Skills and Experience:

Essential

·      Strong proficiency in SQL with an in-depth understanding of advanced SQL concepts and techniques including joins, aggregations, CTEs and window functions

·      Strong background in risk management functions, including market risk, credit risk, and regulatory compliance.

·      Good understanding of Risk measures like VAR, CE/PE & PFE.

·      Experience working with large scale, multi-terabyte data warehouses including performance tuning, query optimization and execution plan analysis

·      Advanced knowledge of data warehousing principles, dimensional modelling and star schema design

·      Hands-on experience with SQL Server and Snowflake, including their architecture, features and best practices

·      Familiarity with data integration tools (SSIS, ADF) and techniques (ELT, ETL)

·      Experience with reporting and analytical tools such as SSAS, SSRS or Power BI

·      Experience of working with risk systems within a financial institution

·      Track record of application ownership including familiarity with audit processes, data governance and cyber security best practices

·      Effective communicator that is able to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders

·      Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities

Preferred

·      Experience with data transformation and modelling

·      Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
