Your Team Responsibilities

The Head of Index Data Products role is part of our Global Index Products team and will play a key role in driving the growth of MSCI's index franchise. The role will be directly responsible for design, delivery and revenue growth of new Index-linked Data Products. In this global role, the candidate will report to the Head of Innovation.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Developing data products used by MSCI clients at Bank trading desks, QIS teams, Hedge Funds and other client segments by leveraging proprietary MSCI data, business intelligence tools and data visualization technology.
  • Ideation and incorporating of client requests for innovative data sets, that will help clients build more efficient portfolios and strategies faster.
  • Leveraging deep expertise and understanding of quantitative investment strategies, data sets and data sources that will bring innovation through new data use cases to clients.
  • Handling large data sets and understanding of systematic investment strategies and derivatives markets globally.
  • Working closely with our senior Index Product Leaders and Regional Heads while collaborating with other functional teams (e.g. Research, Client Coverage, Technology and Data)

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Deep understanding of Delta One trading, Custom Basket Trading and Index rebalancing process, risk management in quantitative strategies and hedging techniques
  • Deep industry experience that includes 5 - 10 years on a delta one desk or on a QIS team, building strategies or hedging risk; global experience is preferred
  • Deep understanding of MSCI data used for production and for research across Index, Analytics, Sustainability and Climate
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and use various tools to analyze, visualize, and present results, ultimately transforming raw data into easy-to-digest actionable insights and data products that inform client's investment decision-making and will drive adoption of this data across MSCI's client base
  • Strong client relationship management skills, the role will be directly interacting with senior clients and Client Coverage teams globally
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and work to translate quantitative data product ideas into specifications for Technology and Data teams
  • Understanding of the financial industry ecosystem, business drivers logic and commitment to organizational objectives
  • Presentation and communication skills, strong collaboration skills across functions and seniority in a global team setting
  • Passion for data and highly analytical mindset; ability to translate data into informative visuals while also being able to draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Creative, self-motivated problem-solver who proactively identifies and implements innovative ideas.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
