The Company


Our client is one of the UK’s leading generators of low carbon power producing electricity from methane gas captured from landfill sites and disused mines, solar power plants and flexible generation assets including battery energy storage systems (BESS) and natural gas fired generators. The company is rapidly expanding and has a strong pipeline of new solar and BESS projects, developing projects for Green Gas and CO2 capture. They are committed to growth by investing in renewable electricity generation and are proud to support the UK’s journey to net zero by 2050.


The Role


The Head of Data Analytics leads the Operational Performance Team based in the East Midlands. The team is responsible for monitoring the real time performance of the company’s power generation portfolio, planning, scheduling and dispatching a team of over 200 field-based staff and producing high quality reports and operational analysis to enable the continual optimisation of their processes. This high-profile role will see the Head of Data Analytics work closely with senior leaders and regional operations teams to ensure the smooth day-to day operation of the business and identify, develop and deliver improvement projects that will improve performance and create additional long-term value.


Candidate Suitability


Ideally, suitable candidates will have the following backgrounds:


  • Significant data analysis experience and the ability to extract data using SQL
  • Experience in managing remote sites and leading/developing high performing field-based workforce
  • Experience and understanding of how to use and optimise asset management systems for the management of field based operational staff
  • Educated to a minimum of degree level in an engineering or analytical subject
  • Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Resilient, eager to drive change and able to focus on the big picture
  • An innovative thinker and problem solver who can adapt quickly and enjoys change
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Ambitious for future career growth, and would fit with our desire to succession plan the most senior roles in the operations function
