Head of Commercial Development

Location: Remote + some national travel across our homes and schools

Salary: £90k, plus 10% annual bonus

Driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential

As our Head of Commercial Development, you will be the driving force behind Horizon's strategic growth. You will design and execute a robust business development strategy, lead a high-performing team, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders to expand our reach and impact.

What you'll get to do:

Strategic Leadership: Design and implement a comprehensive business growth strategy, collaborating with senior leadership to achieve ambitious goals.
Team Development: Lead and mentor the Business Development and Placement teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Relationship Building: Cultivate strategic relationships with regional and national stakeholders, clients, partners, and collaborators to expand our network and influence.
Market Intelligence: Provide insightful market analysis to inform pricing strategies and identify emerging growth opportunities.
Data-Driven Decisions: Develop and implement a robust data strategy to track performance, identify trends, and forecast future growth.
Bid and Contract Oversight: Manage and Support the Bids and Contracts Manager to ensure high-quality tender submissions and identify key opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operational, educational, and marketing teams to ensure alignment and achieve shared objectives.
Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all activities adhere to data protection regulations and industry best practices.

What we're looking for from you:

Essential:

A degree in Business Administration or Organisational Development.
Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
Experience in building external stakeholder relationships.
Performance Driven: A strong record of achievement against KPIs in a similar environment.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate and challenge.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to self-manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Excellent administrative skills, with a strong ability to multi-task and prioritise.
Team oriented and results focused.
Strong IT literacy.
Proven knowledge and experience of a CRM system preferably SalesforceDesirable:

Experience leading a Business Development function within Health and Social care/Education is highly desirable, with an understanding of associated regulations.Why work for us?
