Location: Flexible/Remote (with occasional office working in Stockport)
Benefits: £55,000 - £65,000 pa, Company Car or Car Allowance, 33 days annual leave
Are you a strategic procurement professional with a proven track record in the utilities or engineering sector? We are seeking a Group Procurement Manager to lead and optimise procurement strategies, supplier relationships, and purchasing processes across our organisation.
About the Role
As a Group Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our procurement strategy. You will lead a team of procurement professionals, drive supplier performance, and ensure that our supply chain operations align with business objectives, cost efficiencies, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and processes that align with business objectives and industry best practices.
  
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
  
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring procurement strategies support broader business needs.
  
• Oversee supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, and relationship management to drive cost savings and quality improvements.
  
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to identify areas for strategic procurement enhancements.
  
• Lead initiatives such as supplier consolidation and vendor rationalisation to achieve economies of scale.
  
• Develop and manage procurement budgets, tracking expenditure and cost-saving measures to support financial objectives.
  
• Leverage procurement technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency and data analytics capabilities.
  
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and legal teams to integrate procurement activities into overall business processes.
  
• Establish and oversee supplier performance management programmes, driving continuous improvement and compliance.

  Skills & Experience
  
• Extensive experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally within utilities, engineering, or construction.
  
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive collaboration and performance.
  
• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  
• Experience with civils, utilities, and/or M&E supply chains.
  
• Strategic mindset with strong analytical capabilities to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  
• Expertise in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field (Master’s degree or CIPS certification desirable).
  
• Deep understanding of procurement best practices, regulatory compliance, and industry trends.
  
• Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
