About the role

We are looking for a talented Founding Member to build and scale our go-to-market motion and sales from the ground up. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Generating leads:Network with IP leaders and key decision makers. Go to conferences and events around the World to exhibit Solve’s products and network with industry leaders. Smash outbound via email/LinkedIn/phone calls and build our outbound playbook from the ground up. Grow and leverage your network to book demos and get warm intros.
  • Demo’ing product:Show decision makers demos of our products. Teach them how they can leverage AI to transform their business and workflows.Be the one who shows them the future of IP.
  • Closing deals:Follow up with leads. Negotiate and close deals. Work with our Technical IP team to facilitate successful onboardings.
  • Building product:Provide direct feedback to our team of AI PhDs, software developers, and patent attorneys on customer reactions, requests, and industry directions. Work closely with the technical team to direct the product roadmap (what to build, how to build it, and more).
  • Building GTM motion:We’re building a generational AI company and plan to scale to $1B+ ARR. You’ll be the key person building our sales & growth strategy from the ground up to achieve this.

Who you’ll work with

Sanj(Chief Research Officer and co-founder): Sanj did his MSci in Physics at the University of Cambridge and his PhD in AI at the Gatsby Unit, UCL. He won awards at top AI conferences, worked on the R&D team at Huawei, and received widespread attention for his contributions to open-source LLM GitHub projects. He joined Magic Carpet AI as employee #4, where he developed AI strategies for trading which deployed millions of capital before being acquired byBlockchain.com.

Chris(Chief Executive Officer and co-founder): Chris did his undergrad at Imperial College, masters at the University of Cambridge, and PhD at UCL, during which he published 10+ publications and won awards in top AI conferences and journals. He has worked in leading tech organisations, including Dyson, The Alan Turing Institute, and InstaDeep before its acquisition by BioNTech.

Angus(Chief Technology Officer and co-founder): Angus did an MEng in Computer Science at the University of Bristol where he won a cyber security scholarship at GCHQ before working at Qualcomm. He then joined a London-based hedge fund, Coremont (Brevan Howard). There, he led a small team to build a greenfield trade processing platform which scaled to millions of trades per day.

Justin(Founding Member of Technical Staff): Justin studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and law at Georgetown University Law Center. Before joining Solve, he practiced law at Quarles & Brady, a top U.S. law firm, where he managed, supervised, and prosecuted global patent portfolios and counseled companies on multi-million-dollar global product and technology launches.

Abhi(Founding Full-Stack Engineer): Abhi studied Computer Science at IIT in India. After starting his career at Goldman Sachs, he co-founded WagStays - an “Airbnb for dogs” - where he served as CTO, built the entire product from scratch, and scaled it to 10K+ users and ₹200K MRR. Despite eventual closure due to COVID-19, he continued his startup journey by leading a team of 10+ engineers at a fintech startup, building a decentralized futures exchange with $100M+ daily volume. He then joined Encord (YC W21) in London, where he developed AI model evaluation frameworks and real-time analytics systems that improved model performance by over 90%.

Daniel(Founding Full-Stack Engineer): Daniel studied Computing at Imperial College London. During his undergraduate, he intern’d at a bike rental startup where he single-handedly rebuilt the entire frontend, backend, and infrastructure of the software product which today is being used to rent and maintain 1K+ bikes across Oxford.

Roy(Founding AI Engineer): Roy studied Computer Science and Biology at Tel Aviv University. He holds two patents in LLM meta-architectures and big data analysis. Before Solve, Roy joined Perception Point as employee #13 and their first AI hire. He helped scale the company to 300+ people and led 20+ research engineers as Director of Detection and AI. He also previously founded robotics startup Senatus and, in his spare time, built AI products to help VC firms predict early startup success.

Harry(Founding Member of Technical Staff): Harry studied Physics at the University of Bristol and then Robotics at King's College London. He is a UK & European patent attorney with extensive experience in every part of the patent application process, having worked at highly reputable London firms including Reddie & Grose and Dentons. More recently, Harry set up the London practice of a US law firm as their first European hire.

Tom(Founding Full-Stack Engineer): Tom did his undergrad in physics at Imperial, during which he became interested in programming. He then worked as a full-stack engineer at Redgate. He wanted to learn how computers fundamentally work, and so in his spare built emulators to replicate 1980s hardware on which he can now run classic Nintendo games.

What you bring

As a Founding Member of our Product & Partnerships Counsel, you will have experience with patent drafting and prosecution and/or selling complex SaaS software.

Must haves:

  • Experience with patent prosecution (US preferred) and/or proven track record as an exceptionally high-performing Account Executive or sales professional at a fast-growing SaaS startup (legal tech preferred).
  • Exceptionally clear communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Competitive, metrics-driven, & extroverted personality, extreme work ethic & willingness to grind with the team, high energy.

Preferred haves:

  • Qualified USPTO/EPO patent attorney (US preferred).
  • Technical undergraduate degree in a STEM subject (e.g. computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, biology, physics, or similar).
  • Experience selling complex SaaS products to mid-market & enterprise companies/firms.

Nice to haves:

  • Existing IP network (in-house and/or outside counsel) who might be interested in Solve’s products.
  • Entrepreneurial experience (side projects/hustles, early stage startups, interesting or unusual hobbies).
  • Experience using AI products.
