Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Finance Systems Manager to oversee and optimise our financial systems within a fast-paced UK insurance brokerage. The Finance Systems Manager is responsible for managing, optimising, and supporting Sage Intacct and related financial systems within a UK insurance business. This role ensures that finance technology supports regulatory compliance, improves operational efficiency, and enhances reporting capabilities. The role requires strong collaboration with Finance, IT, and external vendors to drive system enhancements and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

System Management & Optimisation:

Administer and maintain Sage Intacct as the core financial system, ensuring data integrity, security, and best practices.

Maintain and enhance chart of accounts, workflows, and financial processes within Sage Intacct.

Support the optimisation of Proactis and Invoice Capture for procurement and accounts payable workflows.

Support the enhancement of financial close and reporting processes using FloQast and Fluence.

Identify and implement system enhancements to streamline financial reporting, automation, and integration with other finance and insurance systems.

Work closely with Finance and IT teams to troubleshoot system issues, implement system upgrades, and optimise performance.

Integration & Automation:

Drive automation and efficiency across finance processes by leveraging system capabilities.

Develop and maintain system workflows, dashboards, and reporting tools.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial reporting requirements.

Finance Process & Regulatory Support:

Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Ensure financial systems align with IFRS accounting standards, and FCA reporting requirements.

Assist in the integration of Sage Intacct with other finance and insurance platforms.

Project Management & Implementation:

Lead Sage Intacct and Proactis implementations, upgrades, and system integration projects within the business.

Gather business requirements from finance teams to configure system improvements.

Manage data migrations, testing, and validation during system upgrades or rollout to acquired businesses.

User Support & Training:

Provide system training and support to finance and operational teams on functionality and best practices.

Develop user guides, documentation, and process workflows to ensure effective system use.

Act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting user issues and liaising with Sage support.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management:

Work closely with IT, Finance, and external vendors to ensure system performance and alignment with business needs.

Manage relationships with Sage Intacct consultants and third-party service providers for system enhancements and support.

Stay up to date with Sage Intacct developments, UK insurance finance trends, and best practices.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of Sage Intacct, including reporting, automation, and integrations.

Understanding of UK insurance finance processes and FCA compliance (desirable).

Experience in financial systems implementation, process automation, and integrations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy and reconciliation.

Project management skills to drive system improvements and finance transformation initiatives.

Ability to communicate effectively with finance teams, IT, and external vendors.

Experience in training and supporting finance system users.

Qualifications & Experience:

Proven experience as a Finance Systems Manager, Systems Accountant, or similar role in the UK insurance or financial services sector.

Strong expertise in Sage Intacct, with knowledge of configuration, reporting, and integrations.

Experience managing Proactis, Invoice Capture, FloQast, Fluence, GTreasury, Anaplan, and Webexpenses is also desirable.

Professional finance qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or IT certifications related to financial systems are beneficial.

Strong knowledge of financial operations and financial controls.

Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, process-improvement mindset.

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
