JOB TITLE: Enterprise Manager
BASED: Cynon Linc, Aberdare / home working (working across RCT, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil)
HOURS: 21 hrs per week (with potential to increase)
SALARY: £17,103.65 per annum (based on FTE £30,135)
TERM: fixed term – 2-year contract
RESPONSIBLE TO: Charity Development Lead
The Job
This exciting new post will create a buoyant culture of Social Enterprise, building on progressive partnership working and entrepreneurship for Age Connects Morgannwg. Assisting with the development, delivery and promotion of a range of existing income generation projects including Simply Nails, Simply Hearing, SupportPlus and LEAP, you will also explore and develop viable opportunities to expand our enterprise activities.
You will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop partnerships and networks that increase participation and income for the Charity. As part of the operational management team and will be expected to work in a positive, collaborative manner that contributes to strategic growth and furthers the development of Age Connects Morgannwg. All staff are expected to play an active role in the charity’s fundraising efforts.
What you’ll do

  • Provide line management to a team of administrative and community-based workers delivering Simply Nails and Simply Hearing, Support Plus and LEAP activities across Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and Bridgend, to include the full range of management responsibilities.
  • Provide effective supervision, support and performance management to ensure the highest quality delivery of service by the staff in your department.
  • Collate training needs for staff in your department and work across departments and be involved and actively participate in group evaluations, team meetings and income generation reviews.
  • Ensure financial processes are implemented and followed.
  • Work with the Head of Communications to manage social media activity and content and marketing and promotion of activities
  • Uphold quality assurance standards and demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Produce written reports as requested by the Line Manager or any member of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Attend regular training to maintain continuing professional development and participate in supervision/appraisals with Line Manager.
  • Represent the organisation, where appropriate, at events, meetings etc., always conveying a professional and positive image of the organisation
  • Identify gaps in current provision by gathering, collating and providing detailed statistical information including quantitative and qualitative data in respect of all income generation services and maintain monitoring systems required by the service and funders.
  • Develop and support new services and contribute to their successful implementation, always seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Network and build relationships to ensure that individuals, external groups, bodies, and organisations are aware of the activities and income generation services.
  • Responsible for all aspects of risk management in accordance with the organisation’s Risk Management Policy
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Line Manager
    All staff/volunteers working for Age Connects Morgannwg are expected to respond appropriately to any concerns that they may have regarding the abuse/inappropriate treatment of vulnerable adults.
    This will usually mean alerting their line manager. The protection of vulnerable adults is a core responsibility at all times.

    Please note: A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required for this position. You must being able to work from the Head Office in Abedare when required.
