About you and the role:

The Snowflake Data Architect will be a key member of the Data Office helping the organisation deliver data solutions on our Snowflake data platform. They will apply their deep Snowflake expertise to these solutions to ensure they take full advantage of the features available and are provisioned in a cost effective and performant manner. This is a crucial role in helping Enstar build out its data strategy on the Snowflake platform.

What you will be doing:

Snowflake Expertise

  • Working to support our data initiatives by providing deep technical expertise on the Snowflake platform.
  • Guidance on best practice for Snowflake enabling the organisation to extract optimal performance from the platform and its features.
  • Working to drive cost optimisation and allocation across the Snowflake platform.
  • Ensuring Enstar are compliant with the relevant regulatory frameworks in respect to our use of Snowflake.
  • Collaborate with our Data Governance colleagues to ensure that Snowflake provides the required controls to achieve our desired outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards in conjunction with data users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
  • Create short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives and an overall data management roadmap.
  • Establish methods and procedures for tracking data quality, completeness, redundancy, and improvement.
  • Conduct data capacity planning, life cycle, duration, usage requirements, feasibility studies, and other tasks.


What you will bring:

  • Proven experience operating as a Data Architect in enterprise environment utilising Snowflake as a technology.
  • A deep understanding on Snowflake preferably backed with current certifications.
  • This is a hands-on position so the candidate will need to have demonstrable hands-on experience with data engineering tooling such a python and dbt.
  • Knowledge and experience across Data Privacy and Protection, Data modelling, Data engineering, Analytics, Cloud Engineering and their application in a Snowflake environment.
  • Domain experience in reinsurance, actuarial or finance would be an advantage.
  • College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering.
  • Consulting mindset, who is comfortable working with our business, along with external vendors.
  • Any knowledge of AI & Analytics and their practical application using Snowflake features is an advantage.
