Hexwired have partnered with an exciting electronics manufacturer in the Canterbury area who are looking to add an electronic design engineer to their team. They are looking for an experienced candidate with 8 years or more of electronic design experience, as well proficiency with analogue and digital circuits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronics (digital/analogue) and firmware from concept to production.

  • Design schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer or similar tools.

  • Build and test prototypes, including hands-on troubleshooting.

  • Capture technical specifications and requirements.

  • Support for compliance with electrical safety and EMC standards.

  • Conduct cost analysis and ensure RoHS compliance.

    Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in both digital and analogue design.

  • Typically 8+ years of design experience, though exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.

  • Proficient in embedded programming (C) and FPGA (VHDL).

  • Knowledge of C++, C#, Python, Java, or algorithm development is a plus.

  • Familiarity with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB design (Altium preferred).

  • Understanding of EMC compliance and safety standards; occasional visits to test sites expected.

  • Experience in other system areas (e.g., thermals, optics) is advantageous.
