In this role, you will design, integrate, and verify electrical and electronic systems for maritime applications, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and compliant with relevant military and regulatory standards.You will contribute to both new designs and the maintenance or upgrade of existing in-service systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, production, procurement, and testing.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign maritime electrical systems aligned with regulatory and military standards.Develop and upgrade electrical systems for subsea environments.Design and integrate complex electronic systems using COTS/MIL-COTS components.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.Define constructive and mechanical interfaces.Support trials, testing, and integration activities.Prepare technical documentation, including test specifications and proof-of-design records.Conduct safety and EMC compliance testing, supporting UKCA and CE certification.Provide technical input for design estimates and bid preparations.Required Experience EssentialProven experience in Electrical/Electronic Design.Packaging of electronics and cabling for platform installations (e.g., ships, submarines).Design for CE marking and EMC compliance.Familiarity with the Low Voltage Directive.Development of system and sub-system production test specs.Interconnection design expertise.Desirable ExperienceDesigning deployment systems.Development of hardware engineering products.Experience in designing/specifying electronic packaging solutions.Required SkillsGeneral electrical/electronic engineering proficiency.Knowledge of engineering development lifecycles.Strong logical problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively within a team.Competency in Microsoft Office.Skills in power supply design, EMC compliance, and interconnection design.Education & QualificationsDegree in a relevant engineering discipline.Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is highly desirable.Why Join Akkodis?This is your chance to be part of a global network of innovators driving the future of technology.
