2025 sees MoneyGram Haas F1 Team celebrate its tenth season in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship… we’re just getting started. We don’t follow the status quo, we’re here to challenge the competition, and we want you to join us.



 



The first American Formula 1 team to compete in the sport since 1986, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team made an immediate impression with a memorable points-scoring debut at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix. Nine years later, and the team continues to demonstrate growth and a clear direction with its future objectives – coming off the back of its second-best season to-date in Formula 1.




We’re a racing team – not a corporate machine. We have three HQs – Kannapolis in the US, Banbury in the UK and Maranello in Italy – each powered by passionate, loyal and hardworking team ambassadors. At MoneyGram Haas F1 Team – known within the paddock as the ‘family team’ – you’ll be involved in many different areas of the team, have much wider visibility across the business, and will be able to clearly see your contribution to our team.

General Summary: 
This position reports to the Chief Designer or their designee; is located in Maranello, Italy. Responsible for maintaining DMU, E-BOM and CAD data ensuring the car part attributes are consistent, up to date, accurate and complete.






Key Responsibilities:



  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.

  • Ensure accuracy of DMU/E-BOM and CAD data working closely with all the Design groups.

  • Ensure the DMU structure is respected during all design phases: from concept to emission.

  • Work with multiple design groups including suppliers and technical partners to support their need for good quality data.

  • Calculate and document weights of all design components.

  • Monitor weight changes during in-season updates and new car design reporting them to the Chief Designer.

  • Run workshops and training sessions with multiple design groups and downstream departments to educate all on the requirement for data consistency and BOM structure.

  • Collaborate with CAD Methodology group defining new procedures to streamline processes mentioned above.

  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Designer or their designee.




Education and Work Experience: 



  • Must be graduate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • At least three years of experience in a professional motorsports’ environment, F1 experience is considered a plus.

  • CAD design experience in an F1 Team is beneficial.




Specialized Knowledge and Skills: 



  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Have an understanding of racing car architecture.

  • Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations with an eye for detail.

  • Have an excellent understanding of English language.

  • Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.

  • Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.

  • A sympathetic approach to work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.

  • A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.




Equipment and Applications:



  • Solid CAD and PLM knowledge, preferred experience in CATIA 3DX or alternatively in CATIA V5 with enterprise PDM/PLM systems.

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite.




Work Environment Physical Demands:
An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.



Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
