Digital Customer Data Engineer

Join Barclays as a Digital Customer Data Engineer, where you'll be leading the development for a new shared data platform that is transforming how individuals/organisations interact with the bank. To be successful you should have experience with:

• Modern data engineering practices, inc. event-driven and data lake.
• Digital platform development, inc. experience developing colleague and customer facing applications.
• Banking software development.
• Deep technical awareness of cloud and data technology, such as Kafka, Data Bricks, microservices, API.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Technical design: Analysis and documentation of system characteristics, inc. designing solutions to meet multi-faceted non-functional requirements.
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly convey project goals to senior leadership, updates, and technical details to stakeholders at all levels, including non-technical audiences at all levels of the organisation.
• Formal external qualification/accreditation in Programme/Project Management discipline.

This role will be based in our London office.

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

Accountabilities

• Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
• Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
• Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
• Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.
