DevOps Engineer – Hybrid – London

The company is seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer to join its dynamic and forward-thinking team. This role demands proficient technical expertise, especially in deploying and managing cloud infrastructure and on-premises Kubernetes environments.

The chosen DevOps engineer will be an exceptional communicator with strong documentation skills, capable of collaborating with developers, systems engineers, and data scientists in a complex setting. You should possess a keen eye for detail and the ability to meet goals and milestones. Problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively troubleshoot under pressure are essential.
In this role, you will introduce innovative technology to enhance the speed, efficiency, and reliability of the platform. You will optimise existing tools to improve the developer experience and automate development and deployment processes using various new technologies and methodologies, including expanding the use of infrastructure as code practices.
The DevOps engineer must have extensive experience with production cloud technology deployments and a strong understanding of security best practices. Experience in monitoring and alerting for microservice-based systems, proficiency in container-based implementations, and knowledge of Linux and related scripting languages (preferably Python, Bash, and PowerShell) are essential. Expertise in load balancing, HTTP services, and high-availability clustering solutions is also required.
Must Have Experience
AWS: Extensive experience with AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, VPC, EKS, S3, and RDS.
Kubernetes: Proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters, including building clusters with Terraform and deploying applications. Experience in running kubectl or similar tools.
Terraform: High proficiency in Terraform, including creating and editing modules and resources.
Sector Experience in environments involving real-time data, highly available systems, or platforms with vast data.
The technology stack includes solutions for container orchestration, infrastructure as code, CI/CD processes, monitoring, virtualization, security and orchestration, version control, reverse proxies, messaging systems, Linux, and various databases. This encompasses tools and platforms like Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, ELK, VMware, HashiCorp suite, Git, NGINX, and a variety of SQL and NoSQL databases.
Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days onsite p/w)
Salary: £90,000 - £120,000
