If you’re passionate about using insight to influence strategy and want to work in a mission-led environment, this is a rare opportunity to lead a transformation from the ground up.

The Role

As Data Strategy Lead, (Internal grading: Senior Manager) you’ll build and lead a new in-house data function. From creating a centralised data warehouse to embedding analytics into marketing, operations, and membership strategy. You’ll be at the centre of the organisation’s shift toward insight-driven decision-making.

You’ll lead a small team and be the go-to voice for data across the organisation, acting as both a strategic advisor and a cultural change agent.

This isn’t just a reporting role, but a chance to create something lasting. You can shape how a beloved institution measures impact, connects with new audiences, and plans for the future.

You’ll Be Responsible For…

  • Defining and leading a data strategy aligned to organisational goals, acting as the primary advocate for insight-driven decisions, with execs, trustees, and internal teams
  • Managing a new team (Data Analyst and Data Engineer)
  • Leading the rollout of a new cloud-based data warehouse, with support from external partners
  • Championing the use of data across marketing, membership, eCommerce, sustainability and operations
  • Embedding data governance, compliance, and best practices

Who We’re Looking For

  • Strong leadership experience within data, analytics or strategy functions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially with non-technical audiences
  • Experience implementing or managing modern data platforms and cloud environments (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Looker) and data warehousing platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift)
  • Comfortable in build-phase environments — someone who thrives on shaping new functions and culture

Why This Role is Unique

  • You’ll own data transformation, building a modern, respected data capability from day one
  • Your work will directly impact how a nationally recognised institution serves its mission
  • You’ll engage at senior levels and help shape future hiring, tooling, and strategy
  • You’ll leave a visible legacy, in an environment that values trust, creativity, and impact over bureaucracy

Benefits

  • Hybrid working with flexible arrangements
  • Enhanced holiday entitlement
  • Generous employer pension (up to 11%)
  • Bonus scheme and annual pay review
  • Life assurance and critical illness cover
  • Discounts and perks across cultural sites and services

  • First round (Video-call) - 15 minutes call with Hiring Manager and Data Leader for cultural fit
  • Second round (In person) - Presentation-based interview using a scenario task
  • Third Stage (Video-call) - Short final follow-up

Make Insight Count

This is more than a data role, it’s a leadership opportunity to shape how a purpose-driven organisation uses information to connect with people, grow sustainably, and lead with clarity.

Data Science Job Interview Warm‑Up: 30 Real Coding & System‑Design Questions

Data science has become one of the most sought‑after fields in technology, leveraging mathematics, statistics, machine learning, and programming to derive valuable insights from data. Organisations across every sector—finance, healthcare, retail, government—rely on data scientists to build predictive models, understand patterns, and shape strategy with data‑driven decisions. If you’re gearing up for a data science interview, expect a well‑rounded evaluation. Beyond statistics and algorithms, many roles also require data wrangling, visualisation, software engineering, and communication skills. Interviewers want to see if you can slice and dice messy datasets, design experiments, and scale ML models to production. In this guide, we’ll explore 30 real coding & system‑design questions commonly posed in data science interviews. You’ll find challenges ranging from algorithmic coding and statistical puzzle‑solving to the architectural side of building data science platforms in real‑world settings. By practising with these questions, you’ll gain the confidence and clarity needed to stand out among competitive candidates. Negotiating Your Data Science Job Offer: Equity, Bonuses & Perks Explained

Data science has rapidly evolved from a niche specialty to a cornerstone of strategic decision-making in virtually every industry—from finance and healthcare to retail, entertainment, and AI research. As a mid‑senior data scientist, you’re not just running predictive models or generating dashboards; you’re shaping business strategy, product innovation, and customer experiences. This level of influence is why employers are increasingly offering compensation packages that go beyond a baseline salary. Yet, many professionals still tend to focus almost exclusively on base pay when negotiating a new role. This can be a costly oversight. Companies vying for data science talent—especially in the UK, where demand often outstrips supply—routinely offer equity, bonuses, flexible work options, and professional development funds in addition to salary. Recognising these opportunities and effectively negotiating them can have a substantial impact on your total earnings and long-term career satisfaction. This guide explores every facet of negotiating a data science job offer—from understanding equity structures and bonus schemes to weighing crucial perks like remote work and ongoing skill development. By the end, you’ll be well-equipped to secure a holistic package aligned with your market value, your life goals, and the tremendous impact you bring to any organisation.
