Data Solutions Lead                                                                                                                                       

Leeds – Hybrid (1 DPW in office)

£66,000 - £75,000 + bonus

VIQU has partnered with a leading supply chain company seeking a Data Solutions Lead to bridge the gap between business and technical teams, driving innovation and ensuring high-quality solutions. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, adapting to the needs of each project phase.

Key Responsibilities of the Data Solutions Lead:

Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into effective data solutions and designs.
Lead solution design and strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.
Engage with stakeholders to understand platform requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
Guide teams on best practices and technical strategy while providing mentorship.
Contribute to technical delivery where needed, including creating demos and proofs of concept.
Ensure performance, security, and scalability of data solutions.
Key Requirements of the Data Solutions Lead:

Expert in Databricks (experience with Databricks on AWS or Azure).
Strong Python and SQL skills for logistics and delivery optimisation.
Background in solution design and business engagement.
Understanding of AWS (e.g., EC2, Lambda, Fargate) is beneficial.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar; Master’s preferred, with 8+ years in data engineering and leadership.
Experienced in Spark workloads, data modelling, and pipeline optimisation.
Skilled in mentoring, stakeholder communication, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with security standards (e.g., NIST, PCI) and ticketing systems like JIRA.
