The Opportunity:

We have a new opportunity for a Data Scientist to join our client’s consulting team for an exciting new project consulting for a major central government initiative.

This is an exciting opportunity to design and implement data science solutions that handle sensitive data and deliver meaningful insights, contributing to impactful digital transformation projects in the public sector.

Skills and Experience

• SC Clearance with experience handling sensitive data
• Strong knowledge of Python, with a focus on developing high-quality, maintainable solutions
• Expertise in supervised learning, feature engineering, and working with unstructured datasets
• Proficiency in NLP techniques, including named-entity recognition, text embeddings and regex.
• Experienced in designing and implementing Power BI dashboards and data visualisations
• Ability to communicate technical solutions, risks and designs effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Hands-on knowledge of operationalising and deploying data science solutions in live environments.

Role and Responsibilities

• Leverage Python and adhere to best practices for developing robust and efficient software solutions
• Apply supervised learning techniques to datasets with mixed data types, including unstructured text
• Perform feature engineering on unstructured and semi-structured datasets to prepare them for analysis
• Design and deliver interactive Power BI dashboards and visualisations to communicate insights effectively
• Monitor and manage risks associated with methods, requirements and solutions, ensuring robust delivery
