We are currently looking for a Data Scientist to join one of the M+C Saatchi Group's specialist divisions, M+C Saatchi World Services. This division partners with governments, civil society, foundations, academia, and the private sector, to work on the critical issues of our time, including the climate emergency, national security, social justice, conflict prevention, and sustainable development. We provide a fully integrated, end to end service, combining multi-discipline communications teams with subject matter experts, across the world. Our work is domestic and global, often affecting the most vulnerable in society, with international activity orientated towards conflict affected or developing countries.

This full-time role is based out of our London office on a hybrid basis.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a insight-driven Data Scientist to:

  • Support the Agency in developing data & technology solutions to change knowledge, attitudes and behaviours in target audience groups across the world.
  • Use and champion multiple sources of data, best practices and critical thinking to assist multiple client organisations in the pursuit of achieving their objectives.
  • Bring best practices in data and technology, machine learning, dynamic creative optimisation and to work with media, strategy and content to create compelling and effective dissemination programs
  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data

Responsibilities are to:

  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data
  • Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications and programming
  • Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations – this may include GDPR from time to time
  • Prepare and design reports for management and executive teams on both architecture, as well as regular client reporting
  • Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting and integrating new features
  • Assisting the Data Team with ad hoc research tasks.
  • To provide support and guidance on answering client problems using technology and data
  • Support the Measures of Performance (MOP) on projects within the business to support strategy and regularly report on these measures to the Agency and clients.
  • Work with a team to deliver MOP reports for project teams

Reporting:

  • Reports to the Data Science Director

Situational Awareness:

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of both the commercial and development sector data and technology best practices.
  • To understand useful concepts from adjacent industries and how they can be applied to data and technology for example econometrics, strategy, social or similar.
  • To maintain a working knowledge of region(s) of interest including changes in data and technology barriers and opportunities.
  • Keep up-to-date on data and innovations in target geographical areas as well as emerging platforms and technologies which may be applied.
  • Be prepared to assist outside the stated core responsibilities and be proactive in supporting a small, dynamic project team dealing with daily challenges.
