As a Data Quality and Governance Manager, you will be part of the Data Governance and Quality Team, playing a key role in safeguarding our customers' data and ensuring its responsible use across BUK. Your responsibilities include identifying root causes of issues, leveraging data to resolve customer challenges, supporting data governance processes, and managing critical data elements.

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with:

  • Proven experience using data and insights to address customer challenges
  • Strong problem-solving skills focused on data-driven solutions
  • Knowledge of data governance, risk management, or controls

Highly valued additional skills may include:

  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Proficiency in data analytics
  • Understanding of data privacy principles

This role can be based in Manchester (4PP), Glasgow, or Northampton.

Purpose of the role

To develop, implement, and maintain effective governance frameworks for all data and records across the bank's global operations.

Accountabilities

  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive data and records governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Monitoring data quality, records metrics, and compliance across the organization
  • Identifying and addressing data and records management risks and gaps
  • Developing and implementing a records management program ensuring proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval, and disposal of records
  • Developing and implementing a data governance strategy aligned with the bank's overall data management strategy and business objectives
  • Providing group-wide guidance and training on data and records management standards

  • Advising and influencing decision-making, contributing to policy development, and collaborating with other functions and divisions
  • Leading a team performing complex tasks, setting objectives, coaching, and appraising performance
  • Demonstrating leadership behaviors to create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver excellent results
  • Leading collaborative assignments, guiding team members, and identifying new directions for projects
  • Consulting on complex issues and providing advice to support resolution of escalated issues
  • Mitigating risks and developing policies/procedures supporting control and governance
  • Managing risk and strengthening controls related to the work
  • Collaborating across areas to contribute to organizational objectives
  • Engaging in complex data analysis from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Communicating complex or sensitive information effectively
  • Influencing stakeholders to achieve outcomes
