Job summary
The Data Access and Partnerships area is responsible for ensuring effective access to data products for internal and external users. It includes three functions: Data Governance & Assurance, Data Access Service and Data Portfolio management. Together these provide the Health and Care Partnerships and Data Access Control components of the Data & Analytics Operating Model.
This role sits within the Data Access Service: Secure Data Environment Service & Systems Management team.
Data Access Service: Secure Data Environment Service & Systems Management is a team of around 31 WTE. Its purpose is to provide users outside NHS England with secure access to data products through secure data environments and to manage the systems that support applications, management of the data access process and reporting.
Main duties of the job
As a Data Operations Team Manager you will lead the team responsible for managing the systems and reports used to support the delivery of the Data Access services and ensuring the service improvements required are implemented to support the ever-changing demands on the Service.
You will also be responsible for delivering support to the Data Access Service Teams and functions in the use of the systems and reports available. You will take the lead in delivering system improvements, be proactive and able to talk to senior stakeholders to ensure the systems and reports you support work for everyone, and user needs are at the heart of everything you do. You will provide assurance to the Head of Service to ensure system changes support the continued business as usual activities whilst driving through system changes, and work alongside the Data Access functions to redesign the systems to drive through efficiencies and benefits. You will manage external suppliers and contractors in an agile way to ensure customer satisfaction through early and continuous delivery of changes. You will be required to facilitate workshops and hold meetings with a diverse range of users and stakeholders using multiple remote and face to face methods ensuring ideas are communicated clearly and any technical issues are explained appropriately to non-technical audiences.
