What is the opportunity?We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a key part in ensuring robust data governance practices and compliance with RBC’s Enterprise Information Management Policy.By collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation, you will contribute to enhancing data quality, consistency, and security, enabling informed decision-making and regulatory compliance.What will you do?Driving the implementation of data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices across the organisation.Collaborating with stakeholders to establish and enforce data governance policies aligned with organisational objectives.Monitoring and improving data quality through validation, cleansing, and reporting processes.Conducting regular audits and assessments to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of data governance policies.Providing training and raising awareness of data governance principles and practices across the organisation.Supporting the Chief Data Office and Wealth Management Data Management Office by submitting reports and memos.Working primarily within the EMEA and APAC regions while also supporting the wider business.Contributing to a culture of accountability and best practices in data management.What do you need to succeed?
 Must-have:Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work, ensuring accuracy and consistency in data governance activities.Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address issues related to data governance.Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills to build strong working relationships across departments.Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or Power BI.Experience in developing and maintaining processes for data quality assurance, including cleansing, validation, and monitoring.Nice-to-have:Familiarity with enterprise data management systems or platforms, such as Collibra or Informatica.Experience in developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures.Strong communication skills to convey complex data governance concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data governance and information management.Previous experience in a financial services or asset management organisation.
