Job Description

We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to join our team in the UK (London) office. The Data Analyst will assist in the execution of data governance framework as well as help with documentation.


The purpose of this role is to work within the Business Data Management Team to monitor, govern and improve the quality of data within our core systems across the business. Delivering accurate, credible and relevant data governance related information and statistics for management and Data Governance Committee. Helping with all Data Governance and Data Quality related initiatives to ensure the accuracy of internal and externally reported information. This is a hands-on technical role with Collibra being Sompo Data Governance platform.


Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities



  • Lead technical delivery of the Data Governance Strategy, including ownership models, metadata standards, and lineage
  • Design and implement governed reporting structures and report cataloguing across platforms like PowerBI
  • Lead the configuration of the Collibra platform, including workflows, metadata models, lineage automation, and user interface customisation
  • Build scalable templates and automated processes to support self-service governance by Business Stewards and domains
  • Design and maintain technical mechanisms to align with Data Quality, including Governed data elements and ownership
  • Create structured solutions for maintaining critical data definitions, KPIs, and metrics across reporting and analytics tools
  • Act as the central technical contact for governance tooling, contributing to platform roadmap and integration planning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Maths, Accounting, or Finance
  • Deep hands on Collibra experience is a must
  • Experience performing data analysis and reporting required
  • Good understanding of Insurance Analytics and Financial Data
  • Experience in Project Management and capable of working independently
  • Strong technical expertise using data analytics and visualization tools such as Excel, SharePoint, SQL and BI tools
  • Experience producing ad-hoc analysis and reports based on high-level requirements while working closely with clients to refine criteria based on iterative results
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and technical writing skills
