Data Engineering Product Owner

Leeds – Once a week on site

Up to £75,000 base salary

VIQU have partnered with a leading international company who are seeking a Data Engineering Product Owner to help support the delivery of a range of data products to the organisation. This is a mixed role, with expectations of an expert consultant and a hands-on delivery resource depending upon the initiative lifecycle and business requirements. It will include translating business requirements, development of data products, and data solution architecture.

Role duties of the Data Engineering Product Owner:

-          Act as an SME for the data engineering technical domain, and products within this space.

-          Drive product features within the data engineering teams, ensure roadmaps are adhered to and risks are mitigated.

-          Own the data engineering domain 9AWS), responsible for identifying features and products to develop.

-          Guide teams on best practices, methodologies and solutions.

-          Translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.

-          Leading the implementation of technical solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

-          Identifying potential risks related to domain-specific technologies and propose mitigation strategies.

Requirements of the Data Engineering Product Owner:

-          Previous experience in data engineering, having transitioned into a product owner/manager or solutions focused role.

-          Ability to translate complex business requirements to technical and non technical audiences.

-          Experience using AWS technologies (or Azure but AWS is preferred).

-          Experience/understanding of the data bricks platform (or the Spark family but Databricks is preferred).
