We are seeking an experienced Contract Data Engineer / BI Developer with a strong background in data architecture and migration. This role will support the ongoing implementation of Microsoft Fabric and a strategic migration of a SQL database to the Microsoft Fabric Data Lake .The role is a 3-6 month contract and for the most part remote - there will be occasional office visits.Key ResponsibilitiesData Migration to Microsoft Fabric: Oversee the migration of SQL databases to Microsoft Fabric Data Lake, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and performance.Design & Strategy for Data Lake: Define and implement a robust strategy for data structuring within the Fabric Data Lake, focusing on best practices in data sharing, table organisation, access, and controls.Integration with BI Tools: Ensure that data is effectively integrated with our existing applications, including Qlik (which will remain a primary BI tool) and Power BI.Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with internal teams to understand requirements, maintain continuity with existing analytics solutions, and drive adoption of the Fabric platform.Required Skills & ExperienceProven Expertise in Data Migration: Strong experience migrating databases, especially SQL to Microsoft Fabric.Microsoft Fabric Knowledge: Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric's data lake capabilities and the ability to structure data in ways that support BI and data governance.BI Tool Integration: Demonstrated experience with Qlik and Power BI and the ability to ensure data compatibility with these tools during migration.Data Architecture & Strategy Development: Knowledge of best practices in data architecture, with experience designing and implementing data sharing, structuring, and access frameworks.If you are a skilled Data Engineer or BI Developer with an understanding of data architecture and are excited about shaping a forward-looking data strategy using Microsoft Fabric, please apply!Talent International UK Limited and it's subsidary Rethink Digital Gurus Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
