Our Consulting team has a major role to play in driving forward the growth of the firm with over 1,700 people delivering almost £200m revenue.

At the heart of Consulting are the six solutions we offer our clients: business transformation, deal services, finance function support, risk and governance, forensic and investigation services, and restructuring. Our solutions create an enhanced tailored approach to support our clients in achieving their strategic goals and empower our people to make an impact and develop their own unique career path.

About the team and your role

Our Digital and Data Advisory practice, as part of our broader Business Transformation client offering, consists of three teams:

  • Digital Finance team working with clients to understand how their finance functions work, assisting them to articulate what 'good' looks like for them and how they can get there. We work with our clients to ensure they have a Finance function that reflects and supports their vision. We believe in designing a Finance function in which people are key, and technology is the enabler.
  • Digital Transformation team supporting clients throughout their digital transformation journey from defining a digital strategy and roadmap, creating a business case, selecting the right software, documenting user stories, to managing and assuring projects.
  • Data analytics and insights team working with clients to help them understand their level of data analytics maturity and to develop a data analytics strategy that will guide them in achieving their desired level of maturity. We work with clients to identify KPIs and metrics they can use to track progress against their strategic objectives and to assess the quality of their data needed for those KPIs and metrics. We support clients with full life cycle data warehouse and business intelligence/analytics implementations including data warehouse design and build, development of data pipelines, data models and visualisations.

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with multiple years' experience to join our Digital and Data Advisory team.

As part of the Digital and Data Advisory team you will be working closely with clients, and it is therefore critical that you can establish trust and credibility quickly to build effective relationships. It goes without saying that you are a team player, have a "can do" attitude and understand that the best solutions come from collaboration and exchange of ideas. We are also looking for the following:

  • You will have a strong background in data integration design and development, data modelling, and business and data analysis.
  • You will be a problem solver, creative thinker, and self-starter, who is organised, proactive and inquisitive.
  • Ideally you will already have been involved in Transformation projects and can demonstrate the value delivered to organisations with which you've worked.
  • You should be comfortable in juggling multiple deadlines.
  • You will contribute to client proposals and presentations and our clients will see you as a trusted advisor to work closely with them in identifying, analysing, and solving their business challenges.

In exchange, we offer exciting client opportunities, rapid career development, and promotion opportunities for those with the drive and the commitment to succeed in a dynamic environment, whilst delivering exceptional service to clients and becoming part of a high performing team.

Why Data Science Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Data science once meant advanced statistics, machine learning models and coding in Python or R. In the UK today, it has become one of the most in-demand professions across sectors — from healthcare to finance, retail to government. But as the field matures, employers now expect more than technical modelling skills. Modern data science is multidisciplinary. It requires not just coding and algorithms, but also legal knowledge, ethical reasoning, psychological insight, linguistic clarity and human-centred design. Data scientists are expected to interpret, communicate and apply data responsibly, with awareness of law, human behaviour and accessibility. In this article, we’ll explore why data science careers in the UK are becoming more multidisciplinary, how these five disciplines intersect with data science, and what job-seekers & employers need to know to succeed in this transformed field.

Data Science Team Structures Explained: Who Does What in a Modern Data Science Department

Organisations from finance, retail, health, government, and beyond are using data to drive decisions, automate processes, personalise services, predict trends, detect fraud, and more. If you're aiming for a role in data science or recruiting for one, understanding the structure of a data science department—and who does what—can make all the difference. This article breaks down the key roles, how they interact across the lifecycle of a data science project, what skills and qualifications are typical in the UK, expected salary ranges, challenges, trends, and how to build or grow an effective team.
