Job description - the role

Our client, Deutsche Bank, is a global banking business with strong roots in Germany and operations in over 70 countries. Their large but focused footprint gives them an established position in Europe plus a significant presence in the Americas and Asia Pacific. Deutsche Bank offers their clients commercial and investment banking, retail banking, and transaction banking as well as ground-breaking asset and wealth management products and services.

On behalf of Deutsche Bank, AMS is now looking for a Data Analytics Engineer to work in their Corporate Bank Data team based in London on a PAYE basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Evaluating Corporate Bank's "Data Platform" solution, including group provisioned components versus Corporate Bank developed components.
  • Developing application services and components required by the "Data Platform" for Data Management capabilities, including lineage, controls, and metadata management.
  • Contribution and oversight of features and associated code committed to both our in-house developed software as well as market-leading open-source software.
  • Cultivating effective and collaborative relationships with business and technology partners including Product Managers, CIOs, Architects, and Engineering teams.
  • Designing, presenting, and communicating technical solution architectures, including associated artifacts, that address specific business needs or opportunities.
  • Management of development roadmaps and associated engineering milestones for one or more solutions within the Data tribe and EDM initiative.
  • Triage and resolution of design and implementation roadblocks including people, process, and technology constraints.
  • Educating and communicating across organisational silos the benefits of established solutions, including promotion of re-use where appropriate.
  • Supporting talent development within the architecture and engineering professions through talks, learning bites, and mentoring activities.
  • Ambassador for Deutsche Bank and our technology division at internal and external events, forums, and guilds.
  • Identifying and reviewing technologies that can be used to improve our Technology Services and Products.
  • Managing data, technology, and security risks, supporting compliance with associated regulatory requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Relational and non-relational data systems, including graph databases.
  • Data analytics experience using SQL / Java / Python / graph databases.
  • Requirements gathering and solution design.
  • Visualization techniques and implementation.
  • Aggregating data from multiple disparate sources and normalizing ready for processing.
  • Experience with cloud service providers including GCP and Microsoft Azure.
