Join Howdens as a Commercial Planning Analyst at our Raunds office in Northamptonshire.  As part of a key team within a thriving FTSE 100 company, you'll be responsible for supporting and coordinating product launches, promotional schedules and National Trade days across all categories to maximise margin and align with commercial plans.

This an initial 12-month fixed term contract and requires you to be in the office four days a week, with one day working from home. The Raunds office is easily commutable from Kettering, Rushden, Wellingborough and Corby.

This opportunity would suit somebody with an analytical approach and excellent communication skills that enjoys working with a variety of different stakeholders.

What will you be doing as Commercial Planning Analyst:  

  • Responsibility for the creation and maintenance of the core range of fast moving and tactically important products, stocked by depots, for both normal and peak trading periods.  
  • Managing and coordinating the timetable of events and liaising with Category teams to ensure successful delivery of trading plans
  • Managing product introduction plans; ensuring they are in line with the trading plan and balanced with discontinuations
  • Working closely to support and influence Supply Chain, Category, Digital and Marketing Teams
  • Analysis of sales and stock data to produce recommendations
  • Creating, managing and analysing depot ROP and stock surveys to support product launches and promotions, to ensure that stock is in the right place to provide best possible customer service

    What we are looking for from you:  

  • Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative/qualitative, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels within the business
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects with demanding deadlines
  • Experienced at managing cross-functional change projects with strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Good Excel skills with the ability to present data in a logical and understandable way
  • Well organised, exceptionally detail orientated, assertive and willing to take ownership of responsibilities with a high degree of positive energy and drive
  • Suitable candidates could come from a background in merchandising, category planning or project support.
