Position Overview

Reporting to the UK Consumer Finance Director, the Finance Manager will play a crucial role in business partnering with the commercial teams to drive profitable growth. This role will actively identify, drive and implement improvements to processes and ways of working to drive accuracy and control, improve efficiency and deliver key insights to the business to influence decision making. This role is responsible for the proactive pursuit, development and execution of key initiatives and profit-improving programs.

Main Responsibilities

Business Partnering with commercial team to drive growth and profitability – (75% time)

• Full P&L management for EMEA Foodservice including business partnering Foodservice commercial team across UK, France and Switzerland, providing insightful analysis to support decision making (25%)
• Finance ownership of customer negotiations including business tenders and Trade accruals BS management (15%)
• Prepare analysis and insights on the key drivers of financial performance for the Foodservice business unit and determine areas for improvement (10%)
• Provide Finance support and guidance to commercial teams on key projects to support profitable growth (10%)
• Conduct ongoing O&R process to analyse volume and spend (5%)
• Provide financial guidance to the commercial team and lead “commercial finance” training delivery to local commercial teams to develop capabilities focused on margin enhancement inclusive of pricing and promotional spend management and effectiveness (5%)
• Build peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management personnel (5%)

Financial reporting and analysis (25% time)

• Ensure accurate and efficient distribution of commercial finance reports and other business intelligence essential to the commercial organization (5%)
• Participate in the development and adoption of new reporting tools as needed (up to 5%)
• Support month-end processes, quarterly financial forecast and budget (10%)
• Work to improve core commercial finance processes and reporting (5%)
• Ensure all processes are documented and Sarbanes Oxley compliant (up to 5%)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in various technical functional fields in finance and/or economics
• Part/newly qualified in a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or MBA is highly regarded.
• Proven experience in finance and business management including partnering with marketing, sales and/or supply chain functions.
• Proven experience in financial planning and analysis
• In-depth knowledge of profit and loss statements and Balance sheet as well as excellent analytical with a strong financial planning and reporting experience.
• Experience developing sales trends, forecasts, etc. and a demonstrated understanding of the impact of analytical data on company planning (volume/revenue).
• Superior work ethic, flexibility, time management and organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and high accountability.
• Ability to lead by influencing peers and colleagues using collaborative, flexible styles; generate buy-in and ownership.
• Excellent organizational and communication (written and oral) skills
