London with remote/hybrid work options available.Brief overview of the position We are hiring a CTO to lead technology. In this role, you will be the go-to person for executive technological leadership, acting as a business partner with a high level of autonomy to make technical changes and translate complex technical concepts into business-oriented value.As a CTO in our environment, you will be commercially driven with deep tech experience, balancing technical and business needs. This requires the direct capability to be hands-on with development and provide strategic leadership to the team, drawing on your previous experience scaling growth-stage companies.Short-term objectives will include
Responsible for onboarding the tech team, defining the technology roadmap, and ensuring the platform can handle rapid growth and customer demands.Determining the optimal build model: in-house team or outsourced provider.Focusing on conversion, which involves having a lean and scalable product, as well as being agile to accommodate different customer needs.Building an agile and scalable platform that can handle high data volume and complexity, ensuring the technology stack is mature and effective for the company's stage.Role Requirements
Technology Leadership:
Develop and execute a technology strategy that aligns with business objectives, supports rapid go-to-market delivery cycles, and adheres to a lean and pragmatic technological approach.Platform Infrastructure and Development:
Lead end-to-end development of a scalable data-centric SaaS platform. Adopt infrastructure, frameworks and tooling that support a rich user experience and global scalability for large datasets.Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as a liaison between technology team and stakeholders. Communicate progress and align priorities with business objectives.Resource Management:
Manage technology budget and resources effectively. Optimise resource allocation to support strategic initiatives. Evaluate and procure technology tools, platforms, and services that enhance the scalability, security, and performance of the SaaS platform while adhering to budget constraints.Performance Measurement:
Establish performance metrics, and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of technology initiatives on the scalability, reliability, and performance of the SaaS platform.Innovation & R&D:
Drive innovation in technology solutions, exploring emerging technologies and partnerships to optimise platform capabilities and business outcomes.What you will need (requirements and experience)
Proven technology leader with extensive experience at the CTO level, building and scaling a B2B SaaS platform ideally within the transportation, logistics, or supply chain industry.We are looking for a CTO who has helped structure and scale a company through various funding cycles (seed to post-series B & beyond)Expertise in building highly scalable and secure data platforms to handle large volumes of complex data.Strong deep tech expertise and recent experience leading a team of engineers and data scientists, with a focus on building scalable and secure data infrastructure.Commercially minded and able to balance technical and business priorities, with a track record of driving product growth and customer success.Ability to build and lead a technical team in an agile, fast-paced environment to deliver a technology roadmap, while fostering a positive, ego-free culture.Familiarity with the latest technologies and best practices in data management, normalisation, and analytics.Benefits:Competitive Package + Share Options25 days annual leave + Bank HolidayFlexible working arrangementsOutstanding career progression opportunitiesWe are currently only accepting applications who have the right to work in the UK.We're an equal-opportunity employer.
