The Opportunity:


We are seeking a talented and ambitious Business Intelligence & Technology Engineer to take ownership of our technology stack and drive our next phase of growth through automation and AI-driven decision-making. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape the digital infrastructure of a rapidly scaling start-up. You will have the autonomy to identify inefficiencies, design robust solutions, and implement technologies that have a direct impact on our commercial success and operational excellence. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our data analytics and AI capabilities, optimising our core business platforms, and developing bespoke solutions to solve complex challenges.


  • Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop, manage, and optimise the company’s tech stack, including core business software platforms and ensuring scalability as the company grows
  • AI & Automation
  • Analyse business requirements to design and implement software and automation solutions, using generative AI, low-code platforms, and custom code to improve internal productivity and efficiency
  • Implement generative AI-driven systems for intelligent information retrieval and synthesis from company data to enhance decision-making and knowledge dissemination
  • Business Intelligence & Data
  • Lead the development of our data analytics capabilities, creating reports and interactive BI dashboards to provide actionable insights across the business
  • Develop and maintain data integration pipelines between systems, ensuring a seamless flow of information and high data integrity
  • Leverage modern data science techniques to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and support strategic decision-making
  • Governance & Management
  • Own and advance the company's technology governance, cyber security posture, and secure development practices
  • Manage relationships with external technology partners and developers to deliver on project goals


Essential requirements for the role:


  • A 1st or 2.1 degree achieved from a highly academically rigorous university or equivalent real-world achievements in software, data or automation engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in a relevant technology role (e.g., Software Developer, Data Engineer, Process Automation Engineer), or equivalent expertise showcased through a strong portfolio of personal AI, software, or data projects
  • Proven ability to learn and master new frameworks, languages and tools rapidly
  • Ability to enact process automation through low-code platforms and/or common scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Visual Basic etc.)
  • Deep interest in, understanding and use of generative AI to speed up learning, development and implementation of systems, while understanding and navigating its limitations
  • Advanced understanding of business intelligence and data visualisation tools (incl. PowerBI)
  • Solid grasp of database design, SQL optimisation and API integration
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset, with the capacity to work independently and manage projects from conception to completion
  • Strong commercial acumen and an ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Highly proficient with standard business technology and Microsoft Office Suite


Advantageous/ desirable section


  • A degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related field from a highly academically rigorous university
  • Practical experience with generative AI implementation in a business context
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and cloud environments


The interview process will consist of an initial phone call, followed by 3 interview rounds.
