Business Intelligence Assistant, Business Intelligence Team


Grade/Salary: Grade 4 (SCP 12-17) £28,598 - £31,022 per annum


Working Pattern: 37 hours per week


Contract: Fixed Term for 12 Months


Location: Sandhill Centre, Sunderland

About the role

We’re looking for a Business Intelligence Assistant to join our Business Intelligence (BI) team on a fixed term basis for 12 months. This role supports the delivery of high-quality data, reporting and insights across Children’s Services.


You will play a key part in ensuring TfC’s data is accurate, reliable and effectively used. This includes:



  • Supporting the collection, validation, cleansing and analysis of data
  • Carrying out data quality checks and help improve data standards across schools and childcare settings
  • Running routine performance reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Providing email/telephone support to schools and childcare providers using TfC systems
  • Building strong working relationships with colleagues, partners and customers
  • Managing your own workload and support the wider BI team in meeting key deadlines

This is a great opportunity to work within the BI team, collaborating with Social Care, Early Help, Youth Justice, Education, SEND and Transformation teams. You will help develop and support strategic decision-making through innovative and impactful data solutions.

  • Can communicate clearly in writing and over the phone dealing confidently with customers and stakeholders.
  • Enjoy working with data and understand the importance of data quality.
  • Bring experience from Children’s Services or similar settings, with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by the local government.
