Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with tools like Power BI, SQL, NetSuite, Snowflake, Shopify, and Google
  • Analytics to extract insights from diverse data sources.
  • Design and develop intuitive self-serve dashboards that help teams explore data and answer their own questions.
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and wider business teams to gather requirements and
translate them into robust BI solutions.
  • Perform data modelling and structure datasets for accurate, scalable reporting.
  • Interpret financial and operational data to uncover trends, highlight opportunities,
    and solve problems.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning with reliable data models.
  • Train and guide internal teams on BI tools, building a culture of data-led decision
    making.
  • Continuously review and improve reporting infrastructure and systems.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Confident writing clean, efficient SQL — and passionate about making data useful.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M), and data modelling best practices.
  • Experience building dashboards that empower users through self-service insights.
  • Comfortable speaking with a wide range of people — from engineers to stakeholders — to explain what the data’s really saying.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data integration across systems.
  • Able to think critically and communicate insights clearly and effectively.
  • Organised, proactive, and always willing to dive in to solve new challenges.
  • Prior experience within e-commerce, retail, or finance analytics is preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite). (Desirable)
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and digital marketing analytics. (Desirable)

What's on offer?

  • Salary: Dependant on experience
  • 50% discount on all Oh Polly and Bo+Tee products
  • An extra day off for your birthday
  • Corporate gym membership (subject to tax)
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Company pension
  • Company social events

How to Find Hidden Data Science Jobs in the UK Using Professional Bodies like the RSS, BCS & More

The data science job market in the UK is thriving—but also increasingly competitive. As organisations in finance, healthcare, retail, government, and tech accelerate digital transformation, the demand for data talent has soared. Yet many of the best data science jobs are never posted publicly. They’re shared behind closed doors—within professional networks, at invite-only events, or through member-only mailing lists and specialist interest groups. These “hidden” roles are often filled through referrals, collaborations, or direct outreach to trusted experts. In this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock these hidden opportunities by engaging with key UK professional bodies such as the Royal Statistical Society (RSS), BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT), and Turing Society, plus communities like PyData and AI UK. You’ll learn how to use directories, CPD events, and networks to move beyond job boards—and into roles where you’re approached, not just applying.
