Our client a leading B2B business based in South Devon is looking to hire an experienced BI Analyst to help them develop their dashboards and reporting capabilities which are used by their management team to make key business decisions.

The role is offered initially as a 6-month fixed-term contract with a real possibility of becoming a permanent position.

The client is looking for someone who is able to come into the office 1 or 2 days per week - the office is based in South Devon near to Newton Abbot so you will need to be located within a commutable distance of Newton Abbot to be considered for the role.

The role is a technical and hands-on position, but it also requires someone who is experienced with strategic planning, someone with the ability to align business intelligence and reporting initiatives with company goals and business/user requirements.

Working with the Senor IT Manager and various Data Users you will determine requirements and components, setting clear objectives, around data, BI and Dashboard development. Some experience with Business Analysis and Project Management is highly desirable but is NOT essential.

In this role you will be responsible for documenting our client's data dictionary - developing instructions on how to connect to data, determining what data products should be used for ad hoc reporting, and what existing dashboards should be used to answer regular reporting needs.

You will be involved with data validation efforts, and you will help to build out and determine key business metrics. You will also be involved in the automation of BI Reporting and Dashboard services.

You will help to coordinate data warehouse and analytics action items and priorities, and you will facilitate meetings between various internal users, documenting the outcome of these user meetings.

The technical environment is built around Power BI, MS SQL Server / MS Azure SQL Database, utilising an Elastic Pool with a number of individual databases (production and non-production).

Multiple dashboards have already been built using Power BI (by individual users) and you will be involved in moving these dashboards to a Service Account, keeping them centralised. You will also be responsible for creating new dashboards in line with business needs using Power BI.

Data is pulled into the databases via Azure Data Factory from a number of ERP systems. Any knowledge of Azure Data Factory is a bonus but is NOT essential.
