Job Description

Due to growing UK demand for our Digital services, we are seeking to recruit an Associate Director to provide technical Oracle Unifier software configuration capability for clients while helping to further develop capability within our digital function.

We are looking for an energetic and self-reliant individual with strong technical Unifier expertise and a willingness to deliver on a variety of projects and programmes, across the UK.

Our clients are ‘project enterprises’, invested in the delivery of a broad range of physical assets e.g. railways, airports (infrastructure), data centres, manufacturing facilities (real estate), offshore wind turbines, mines (energy & natural resources), naval ships (defence).

You want to transform our clients’ approach to project-programme-portfolio management (P3M) by implementing Unifier and other digital solutions.

The Role

Complementing your primary task of system configuration, as part of the role, you will:

  • Solution Definition;Drive scoping, requirements definition, and prioritisation for large, complex projects.
  • Business Process;Influence business users to align their processes and ways of working with system features.
  • Configuration PlanningDevelop and lead comprehensive configuration plans and approaches.
  • Technical ConfigurationServe as a recognized expert in the technical configuration of P3M systems.
  • Technical DocumentationLead the development and management of technical documents for P3M systems, focusing on Unifier.
  • Solution Technical Awareness;A comprehensive understanding of technologies in the context of an Unifier configuration, including database management, scripting, system integration, reporting tools, cloud computing, networking, system administration, security, performance tuning, and information retention.
  • Support and Collaboration;Provide high-level support, collaboration and stakeholder management in multidisciplinary delivery environments.
  • Communication;Ensure the delivery of high-quality communications, documentation, and presentations.
  • Best Practice;Advocate for leading practices in systems configuration and implementation.
  • Training and Support;Lead technical training initiatives and support user adoption.
  • Business Development;Provide strategic technical input to optimize business development efforts and contribute to winning new work.
  • Consulting Services;Provide expert client consulting services to deliver tailored solutions and achieve desired client outcomes through strategic insights and effective collaboration.

Qualifications

Skills required for this role are:

  • A strong understanding of how to implement digital solutions and systems that drive value for clients in the capital project/ programme and asset management space
  • Proven track record of delivering on client engagements including driving delivery from the start of an engagement and partnering with client representatives to deliver tangible change
  • An understanding of how to equate specific solutions to client benefit; either financial or otherwise
  • High emotional intelligence with a good understanding of how to influence without authority
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal – able to communicate often complex systems configuration considerations to clients in a way they can digest and action
  • An advanced understanding of technologies in the context of a Unifier configuration; database management, scripting, system integration, reporting tools, cloud computing, networking, system administration, security, performance tuning, and information retention.

Qualifications required for this role are:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent through experience
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable including those provided by industry organisations such as APM, RICS, BCS etc.
  • Relevant Information Technology certifications.
  • Domain and market;Possess a deep understanding of projects/ programmes in some or all of the following;
    • Infrastructure markets including aviation, rail, road, regulated utilities, ports and environment
    • Defence, Central or Local Government
  • Solution Technical Awareness;Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of technologies in the context of an Unifier configuration, including associated Oracle products, e.g. OICS, database management, scripting, system integration, reporting, cloud computing, networking, system administration, security, performance tuning, and information retention.
  • Data Architecture and design;Expertise translating designs of data & architecture solutions into action
  • Collaboration;Experience in collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams, including software engineers, DevOps and infrastructure teams, data scientists etc.
