Lead Architect – Solutions & Governance | Tier 1 UK Bank


One of the UK’s data pioneers looking to rebuild and restructure the architecture capabilities and bring in a Lead Architect to spearhead a newly created team. This organisation have undergone massive growth within Data & Analytics over the last 3-4 years, growing from 1700 to now over 3000 members within the team today.


This transformation of how data is managed and used across the enterprise involves modernisation of key platforms and a number of initiatives including defining the intentional architecture for the bank’s data marketplace and shared data platforms.


In this role, you’ll be defining and communicating the current, resultant and target state of data intensive solutions and data architecture governance. This involves:


Responsibilities

  • Translating architecture roadmaps and governance targets into packages of work that allow frequent incremental delivery of value to be included in product backlog
  • Defining, creating and maintaining architecture models, roadmaps, standards and outcomes
  • Working closely with data owners and, business and technology leaders across the three lines of defence to ensure alignment to data architecture governance strategy and targets
  • Leading, influencing and governing data architecture governance and data solution advisory ensuring these meet the bank’s business and data strategy demand
  • Managing data both from an on-premises and virtual cloud environments


Experience

  • Hands-on experience with architecture roadmap design and and programme and project governance
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of data, architecture and governance frameworks such as DAMA, DCAM, TOGAF and ARCHIMATE
  • Have managed or lead other architects, as well as influencing teams of architects, data engineers, and business analysts across data and other domains.
  • Experience and knowledge of Tableau, AWS data services stack, Informatica and at least one supplier in data management, graph DBs, MDM and NoSQL Databases


This is apermanentrole with hybrid working based in either Manchester, Edinburgh or London
