The Role: 

We are seeking a flexible and driven Data Scientist/AI Engineer to prototype, develop, and scale impactful AI solutions. This hands-on role involves close collaboration with data scientists and cross-functional teams across the AI workflow—from exploration and model development to deploying generative AI and machine learning pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong Python skills, experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), and a background in training or fine-tuning models including LLMs. Familiarity with technologies like RAG, vector databases (e.g., Qdrant), and MLOps tools (e.g., DVC) is highly valued. A strong understanding of responsible AI practices and a passion for experimentation and continuous learning are essential.

Responsibilities:

Design, prototype and implement AI models in collaboration with diverse teams.

Collaborate with product managers, engineers and domain experts to align solutions with real-world needs.

Ensure that AI solutions are responsible, ethical and align with governance standards.

Stay informed on developments in AI and ML, particularly around generative AI, and evaluate their applicability within the organisation.

Contribute to a culture of curiosity, experimentation and continuous learning within the team.

Skills & Experience:

You will have the following skills or proven experience:

Strong programming skills in Python and experience with AI/ML libraries (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, HuggingFace Transformers)

Experience training and/or fine-tuning machine learning models, ideally including LLMs or other deep learning architectures.

Able to work collaboratively with Data Scientists, engineers and stakeholders in an agile environment.

Experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) or vector databases (e.g. Qdrant.)

Exposure to MLOps practices and tools (e.g. DVC)

Understanding of AI ethics, bias mitigation and responsible ML practices.
