Power BI Developer / BI Developer

Salary: Up to £60,000

Location: Tamworth

Working Pattern: 4 days per week in the office.

The Role

We are partnering with a well-established B2B organisation seeking to enhance its internal Business Intelligence capability by recruiting a Power BI Developer / BI Developer.

This is a hands-on technical BI delivery role focused on developing, improving, and maintaining Power BI reporting across the business. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with analysts, stakeholders, and the wider data team to translate reporting requirements into reliable dashboards, datasets, measures, and semantic models.

While the business benefits from senior data architecture support, it requires someone to take practical day-to-day ownership of Power BI delivery, improve reporting consistency, and reduce reliance on a small number of key individuals.

This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys hands-on Power BI development but also understands the broader data environment, including data modelling, ERP data, semantic layers, governance, and data warehouse-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, and semantic models.

Build DAX measures, reporting logic, and data models in line with business requirements.

Collaborate with analysts and business users to understand reporting needs and deliver effective BI solutions.

Support the development and management of semantic layers.

Enhance reporting governance, consistency, data quality, and documentation.

Work with ERP and operational data sources.

Contribute to data warehouse-related activities as required.

Implement and manage row-level security where necessary.

Provide practical technical support to the wider data team.

Help reduce key-person dependency and improve resilience across the reporting environment.

Take ownership of BI delivery to ensure reporting is reliable, scalable, and well maintained.

Candidate Profile

Proven experience in Power BI development.

Confident in building dashboards, reports, datasets, measures, and semantic models.

Strong skills in DAX and data modelling.

Competent in SQL.

Experience with ERP, operational, or business-critical data is advantageous.

Exposure to data warehouse environments is beneficial.

Able to engage effectively with analysts and business users, not solely operating at a technical level.

Good understanding of reporting standards, governance, and data quality.

Proactive, accountable, and capable of working independently.

Comfortable taking ownership of delivery and supporting a growing BI environment.

Where to Advertise Data Science Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise data science jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, communities and channels that actually reach senior and lead data science talent. Data science spans a broad and often misunderstood spectrum — from statistical modelling and experimental design through to machine learning engineering, product analytics and AI research. The strongest candidates identify firmly with specific subdisciplines and are frustrated by adverts that conflate data scientist with data analyst, business intelligence developer or machine learning engineer. General job boards produce high application volumes for data roles but consistently fail to match specialist data science profiles with the right opportunities. This guide, published by DataScienceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise data science roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
