Harland & Wolff/Navantia are seeking a highly skilled Workforce Planning and Data Analytics Specialist to join our HR team. This role is crucial in ensuring our workforce is aligned with the company's strategic goals and future needs. The successful candidate will work across the business and access multiple data sources to analyse, create and manage the company workforce plan to ensure we have the people needed to deliver on our commitments in time and within budget. The successful candidate will work across the business to forecast workforce requirements, manage workforce peaks and troughs, and provide comprehensive data analytics to support evidence-based decision-making.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


Workforce Planning:

  • Collaborate with HRBP’s and business leaders to ascertain future workforce needs and develop strategic workforce plans.
  • Forecast talent demand and identify potential gaps and surpluses.
  • Develop strategies to manage workforce peaks and downturns, minimizing the need for heavy recruitment and redundancies.
  • Ensure needs are communicated back to Recruitment and Learning teams for their planning.


Data Analytics:

  • Collect, analyse, and report on workforce data, including gender, disability, and ethnicity pay gaps.
  • Provide data insights to support evidence-based decision-making for future workforce needs.
  • Analyse training, competencies, and skill gaps to develop targeted training programs and strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Create and maintain an HR dashboard for executive reporting, ensuring key HR metrics are easily accessible and actionable.


Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of workforce planning initiatives with business objectives.
  • Communicate workforce planning insights and recommendations to senior leadership.


Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on workforce metrics and analytics.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in strategic workforce planning and data analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, labour market trends, and regulatory requirements would be advantageous
