PURPOSE OF ROLE:

As a UX Research Lead, reporting to the UX Research Manager, you will be responsible for both leading a team of UX Researchers and driving research efforts. You will manage a diverse team of researchers across multiple squads, ensuring their professional growth and guiding them to deliver high-quality research. At the same time, you will actively design and conduct research using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to deepen our understanding of current and potential users, helping to create user experiences that are simple, intuitive, and high-performing. You will also collaborate closely with Product Managers to plan and deliver UX research roadmaps.

You will work in a team alongside other UX professionals, who are leading the user-centric product transformation of a financial services business. It is an exciting role that will make a real difference within an industry that is ripe for better design thinking and a user-centered focus.

Day to day, you’ll be collaborating with UX Designers, UX Copywriters, UX Researchers, Data Analysts, CRO, Product Owners, Product Managers, Developers, Testers, Customer Service Advisers, and stakeholders across the business.

Your research insights will need to inform, influence, and support cross functional teams in their quest to understand more about our users, which in turn will be used to generate ideas and highlight opportunities for our roadmaps that will help champion user driven decisions and improve the user experience.

***THIS ROLE IS BASED IN MANCHESTER AND WOULD REQUIRE YOU TO WORK FROM THE OFFICE THREE DAYS PER WEEK***

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the UXR Squad Roadmaps and oversee the work of UX researchers within your tribe
  • Manage and lead a team of UX Researchers (Multi levels)
  • Provide continuous feedback and guidance to UX Researchers at all stages of the research process
  • Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work, supporting the squad in maintaining an agile workflow.
  • Work as part of the double diamond process
  • Embed user research into our discovery and product development process working with Research, UX Designers, Analytics and the Product Owners and - Product Managers.
  • Deliver collaborative research sessions including set up, recruitment, moderation, data collection, analysis and debrief.
  • Bring stakeholders along the end to end research journey, making research visible and engaging.
  • Conduct primary and secondary user research using both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritise and evaluate research topics.
  • Plan and implement user research strategies and methodologies with UX managers and other team leads.
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written and oral presentations.
  • Ability to ask and answer questions, gather, analyse and synthesise data.
  • Use a diverse set of UX research tools such as UserZoom, Hotjar, Usabilla and Contentsquare.
  • Provide support, guidance and coaching to designers, researchers, copy writers, product managers and UX & UI to up-skill them, and embed a user-first mindset.
  • Drive accessibility within the UX Research team
