Underwriting Governance Analyst – Global Reinsurance Group

London | Hybrid Working | Permanent

£85k - £95k plus 20% Bonus

DATAHEAD is exclusively recruiting for a Group Underwriting Data Governance Analyst on behalf of a global reinsurance group. This is a unique opportunity to join a listed, high-performing organisation at the forefront of speciality lines underwriting.


You’ll play a central role in strengthening the group’s underwriting governance framework - working closely with C-suites and senior stakeholders. This role offers visibility across multiple lines of business and exposure to both in-house and delegated underwriting arrangements (DUAs).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting portfolio oversight through MI packs, board/committee reporting, and governance commentary
  • Monitoring compliance with underwriting principles, delegated authorities, and outsourcing frameworks
  • Coordinating tracking of new business proposals, referrals, and key binder metrics (e.g. premium limits, SLAs)
  • Overseeing coverholder audit activity and associated action tracking
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of third-party underwriting controls
  • Liaising with internal audit on underwriting-related reviews
  • Working cross-functionally to embed best practices across underwriting, claims, ops, compliance, and external partners


What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience within an underwriting, underwriting governance, or controls role
  • Background in the global speciality insurance or reinsurance sector
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills—comfortable operating across international teams
  • Analytical thinker with attention to detail and strong written communication skills
  • Understanding of DUA business and multi-class insurance (preferred)
  • Ability to interpret insurance contracts and associated legal documentation
  • CII qualifications are advantageous
