Technical Data Specialist

Contract onsite in London Day rate: £650 - £858 per day inside IR35

We're currently seeking an accomplished and highly ambitious Technical Data Specialist to work with our exceptional client, a world class brand in a secure environment to drive major business transformation, process and technical change across this complex organisation.

This contract roles will require you to conduct security clearance prior to assignment. The Technical Data Specialist role is conducted in an environment that is far from ordinary, therefore, we're not looking for ordinary.

The Technical Data Specialists set the vision for the organisation's use of data (through data design) to ensure that data is managed properly and meets the organisation's needs. You will work with key internal and external partners to deliver data architecture in support of a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Strategic/Conceptual data architecture; understanding the breadth of its data assets and setting strategy for the use of standards etc to ensure interoperability in key areas

Working with partners to agree and promote relevant data standards and patterns

Working with delivery areas to ensure data interoperability and quality

Contribute to the wider work of the data office in terms of strategy and the contribution of data architecture across the breadth of data management

Migration to Cloud presents an opportunity to implement a new data architecture-one that is more data-centric and more interoperable. Supporting and enabling this is a key objective for the team.

Experience:

Data Modelling: Developed physical, logical or conceptual data models; Designed databases; Produced data flow diagrams; Worked with ontologies or knowledge graphs; Used UML/Visio/Express-G/Sparx/other modelling tools

Data Standards: Developed data standards in support of data interoperability; written technical specifications; assured code / systems against standards; championed data standards

Metadata Management: Designed / Developed data catalogues or metadata repositories; used tools like Apache Atlas/Hive Metastore/AWS Glue/AWS Datazone

Data Design: Designed data lakes/data warehouses/data lakehouses /data pipelines/data meshes/data marketplaces
