IntaPeople are seeking an experienced Technical Data Governance Consultant with a strong focus on Microsoft Purview and technical implementation skills to join our clients data management team. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining the data governance framework, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and security across their estate.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data governance principles, especially architecture, and hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, as well as the ability to guide the technical deployment of data governance solutions.
The role is central to managing data integrity, overseeing data cleansing, migration, and ensuring that data management practices adhere to compliance and regulatory standards. This includes overseeing data governance tools, and ensuring a consistent framework for data quality and maturity across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
Data Asset Management and Cataloguing:
Maintain a comprehensive and accurate catalogue of data assets across the organisation
Collaborate with data owners and stewards to document and manage data sources, definitions, and lineage.
Implement and maintain governance frameworks that ensure consistency in data asset documentation.
Data Quality Management:
Evaluate the quality of data by assessing its accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Define and implement data quality metrics and monitoring processes to ensure continuous data integrity.
Develop and manage data cleansing processes, including identifying and resolving data quality issues in collaboration with data stewards.
Data Cleansing & Conformance:
Lead efforts to cleanse, standardise, and conform data for accurate use across business applications.
Implement processes to ensure that data is standardised across various systems, reducing redundancies and inconsistencies.
Data Governance Tools Expertise:
Oversee the use of data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview for data discovery, cataloguing, and management.
Ensure that governance platforms are properly configured to meet organisational requirements and regulatory standards.
Evaluate and recommend new tools or technologies that enhance data governance and metadata management.
Data Migration and Systems Integration:
Once data cleansed, manage the migration of data to new systems or platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to business processes.
Oversee the mapping and transfer of data to environments such as Unity Catalog for Databricks or other cloud-based solutions, ensuring data consistency and data quality throughout the process.

Competitive salary of £75,000 to £85,000 – depending on experience
