Department Profile: Firmwide Data Office

We are a team of around 200+ people distributed globally and are engaged in a wide array of projects touching all business units (Institutional Securities, Investment Management, Wealth Management) and functions (e.g. Operations, Finance, Risk, Trading, Treasury, Resilience) across the Firm.

The team vision is a multi-year effort to simplify firm’s data architecture and business processes front-to-back with goals of reducing infrastructure and manpower costs, improving the ability to demonstrate control of data, empowering developers by providing consistent means of handling data, facilitate data-driven insights & decision making.

Program Description

We are working on an exciting new initiative to build an Enterprise Knowledge Graph by harnessing the power of Graph and Semantic technologies to map complex application, data, and infrastructure asset relationships to facilitate data-driven insights and decision making.

Across our business divisions, as we strive to understand risk impact, optimize cost, assess business resiliency, manage change and identify opportunities - all critical to fuel the growth engine -, we need to link vast amount of data of different types and forms across heterogeneous data sources across the Firm to generate meaningful intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • In depth data analysis, with a focus on solving specific business problems of Cyber Resilience, Data Lineage, Business Continuity and Data Protection
  • Harness the power of a semantic triple store and graph database to answer complex business questions, delivering insights and inference capabilities
  • Align data requirements to application development within a graph framework
  • Contribute to data modeling to ensure it can support a variety of use-cases from traditional reporting, to application UI’s and LLM-based chatbots and RAG query/responses
  • Work within an Agile framework, emphasizing capabilities that contribute to business value
  • Act as a role model to junior analysts, data scientists, business analysts and developers
  • Help build a rapidly growing team in a competitive environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 8+ years of relevant experience in Data and Business Analysis
  • Familiarity with working with Graph databases
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, including defining, implementing and reporting on progress and business impact
  • Strong problem-solving skills, business acumen, and demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders, bringing different teams together to execute on a plan towards a common goal
  • Significant experience in Program Management for large transformation projects, with understanding of high-quality governance practices
  • Experience working with stakeholders to capture requirements, user stories and covert them into development deliverables

Advantages

  • Understanding of RDF, OWL, SHACL and other semantic technologies
  • Familiarity with Ontologies
  • Previous experience with LLM driven solutions and NLP practices
  • Experience in Banking or Financial Services
