Sustainability Manager

We are working exclusively with an extremely well-known, industry leading client on the lookout for a Sustainability Manager to join their team in Warwickshire. This is a pivotal role that will be a key part in the Sustainable Development Team, ensuring the business is operating in line with the law, environmental guidelines and their internal sustainability targets.

This role involves working across the business to manage and evolve their approach to ESG, environmental compliance and reporting, and improving their environmental performance, including greenhouse gas emissions, waste and water.

This position will help make sustainability meaningful for their people, empowering them to create positive change for their customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in executing and refining the ESG strategy, overseeing the implementation of designated ESG projects as needed, and developing Scope 3 action plan

  • Develop and coordinate effective sustainability communication materials for both internal and external audiences across various channels, including the annual report, newsletters, intranet, and more

  • Create strategies to enhance social responsibility, such as exploring and establishing new charity partnerships and volunteering opportunities

  • Oversee and ensure the timely submission of compliance-related reports, including SECR, CRFD, CSRD, ESOS, Simpler Recycling, and the Modern Slavery Statement

  • Lead the preparation and submission of environmental reporting for CSRD compliance, ensuring alignment with company requirements, including fully GHG inventory

  • Serve as the main point of contact for the sales team, providing support for customer inquiries and tender requirements, and manage EcoVadis assessment

  • Manage and deliver the companies monthly and quarterly sustainability reporting on carbon, waste, and water, including key performance metrics, finance updates, internal sustainability initiatives, and quarterly submissions to the parent company

  • Managing and enhancing the Regional Sustainability Competition, which incentivises colleagues to save energy and improve site level environmental performance

  • Support the operations of the Sustainable Development Team

    Key Skills, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and professional experience of sustainability legislation and best practice, ideally with at least 3 years in a corporate environment

  • Strong analytical and data management skills

  • Skilled at building and maintaining internal and external relationships

  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proven project management and leadership experience

  • Experience working with stakeholders at all levels to achieve results

  • Ability to lead and drive strategic change

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience improving data quality

  • Desirable: experience with CRFD, SECR, Modern Slavery statement and Simpler Recycling regulation

  • Desirable: professional membership (e.g., IEMA).
