Role purpose

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Pricing and Portfolio Management, this role will help shape the commercial management of the Vehicle Finance business, driving profitable growth across our target market.

You will be pivotal in driving a more analytically led approach to support the transformation of the Vehicle Finance business, using internal / external data and insight to drive channel and portfolio optimisation and evolution of product / pricing strategy, whilst driving good customer outcomes. This role will also be central to shaping and defining how we develop the right data infrastructure within Gateway to facilitate the analytical requirements of the commercial team.

An ability to work effectively with multiple cross-functional stakeholders is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the formulation of a robust commercial analytical framework to understand and manage the key drivers of the Vehicle Finance product / portfolio performance

• Optimise new business portfolio profitability to balance volume growth with unit returns, ensuring that we deliver good customer outcomes

• Gathering and analysing sufficient range of internal and external reference points/data and benchmarks to identify opportunities to drive commercial value and continuous improvement

• Work closely with the Sales team to monitor market movements to ensure competitiveness of the product range and drive change, identifying and leveraging new data sources where possible

• Identify opportunities to optimise conversion for new to Group and existing customers

• Work closely with the Product Management team to support the creation and enhancement of Vehicle Finance products and services ensuring they meet consumer needs and stay ahead of market demands

• Establish and maintain strong relationships across finance, credit risk and data and analytics to ensure pricing models are fit for purpose and assumptions appropriately reflect current performance and achieve target returns.

• Support VBG core values and risk culture – becoming the champion of our customers

• Coach, mentor and support development of other members of the product management team

• Develop a network and work collaboratively across the Group to contribute to the culture and deliver against the Group’s objectives

• Be a strong member of the Commercial leadership team – deputising for the Senior Manager, Commercial Management and Pricing when required.

What you bring to the team

• Experienced Commercial Analytics Manager, who has been part of a team focused on management of a Lending P&L

• SAS / SQL coding

• Strong understanding of consumer lending, preferably the non-prime /digital lending sector

• Exceptional quantitative skills, with a strong foundation in credit analytics and portfolio management. Able to resolve complex business problems in a logical and persuasive way for the good of the customer and business

• Proven strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills – achieved in a remote, matrix organisation

• Excellent communication skills and presentation skills to Director level– being articulate about the strategy and plan, inspire confidence, credibility and influence at all levels across the business

• Understanding of corporate governance frameworks and the requirements of an FCA/PRA regulated business

• Sound judgment and ability to operate independently and objectively

• Educated to degree level or higher within a technical discipline or equivalent experience

Working Pattern:Our working style is hybrid, but we recognise the importance of

collaborative working with our working with our colleagues often 2 days per week in one of our offices . More office-based working may be required during project rollouts or when we have a higher number of users in the office.
