About you

If you’re an expert software engineer who's seen the magic of working with LLMs and wants to harness that to create impact in the real world? We need to talk!

We're now hiring an enthusiastic AI Staff Engineer passionate about pushing the boundaries of generative AI systems. We need a motivated, adaptable, and product-minded engineer with a deep passion for building intelligent systems and a desire to architect robust, scalable solutions that delight our customers.

You've developed exceptional skills in software engineering and architecture. You're always up-to-date on the latest AI models and can quickly pick the best model and tool for the job. You've got real-world experience putting AI to work in businesses, and you love digging into complex technical challenges to find innovative solutions.

Details don't slip past you, and you're comfortable wading through lengthy documents and intricate code to get the full picture. As someone who picks up new skills quickly, you're energised by the fast-paced world of startups. Your entrepreneurial spirit shines through in everything you do, and you have a knack for mentoring other engineers and collaborating with both commercial teams and customers.

More on the role

Reporting to our CPO and Founder Johnny Morris, you'll be spending your time architecting and implementing our innovative AI technology to meet our enterprise customers' unique needs. You'll work closely with our CTO Chen and the rest of the small, highly skilled engineering team to design and build scalable AI solutions that add value to our customers and push the boundaries of what's possible with our genAI platform.

Day to day, you might…

  • Own a core part of our product and lead the development of features to solve our customers' most difficult problems:
    • Advanced data extraction techniques for processing property leases at scale
    • Sophisticated workflow automation for analysing planning documents and drafting advice
    • Multi-step agentic content generation workflows for creating market research reports
  • Work closely with our commercial team and customers to really understand where we can add value and improve our product to cater to their needs
  • Work with the team to ensure data privacy and security by design
  • Keep a close eye on the latest research relevant to our domain and industry, because you may have the chance to apply them tomorrow

What we're looking for

Experience in a high-growth startup or fast-paced tech environment is required. We're a small team of skilled and independent contributors - and we need someone who can hit the ground running right alongside them.

We need for the role:

  • Experience building software in organisations with great engineering practices. You know how engineering organisations scale.
  • Have owned end-to-end product development before. You've defined, shipped and then owned product features yourself.
  • Extensive experience with Python and proficiency in LLM libraries (e.g., Langchain, LLMFlows).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Be ambitious and resilient - we are a seed company seeking to revolutionise document-heavy industries, and this is a high-challenge (and high-support) startup environment.
  • An awareness of the commercials of the business is a must. Continually delivering value to our existing customers, so they continue to buy more user seats from us and spread The Good Word about our product, is super important.

In addition - Nice to have

Don't be put off applying if you can't tick off much or anything in this section - we truly believe that skills can be developed, and diverse experiences contribute to a dynamic and innovative team.

  • Experience in real estate, law, or finance.
